I am an emerging children's book writer and illustrator who is passionate about children's literature. My experience as an ESL teacher and my work with multicultural literature fuel my creativity, inspiring me to craft stories with empathetic, curious, and adventurous characters set in diverse environments. I am especially proud that my book, GRANDMA'S APRON, won First Place from Ozark Creative Writers, Inc., highlighting my dedication to inspiring young readers. Holding a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Arkansas and having served as an Assistant Professor and Curriculum Specialist, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my writing. About Me

Greetings! Ciao! Hola! Bonjour! Having grown up on both the East and West coasts, I now call the beautiful Ozarks my home. My career path has been varied, from managing an art gallery in NYC to working on an organic farm in Ireland, leading overseas tours, organizing conferences, teaching ESL, developing curriculum, publishing research, presenting at international conferences, coordinating service learning projects, and coaching students. Currently, I channel my passion for creative writing and illustration into designing children's books, crafting inspiring stories for young readers. When I'm not immersed in reading, writing, or illustrating, I love photography, traveling, volunteering, hiking, gardening, experimenting with new recipes, and cherishing time with my loved ones. I am actively illustrating my children's books and seeking representation from an agent. I invite you to my website and connect with me on social media to join me on my journey as a children's book wri writer! Find me on X @HowlettTina, Instagram @tinamariehowlett, and Substack.
